Who is Alex Barak?
Alex T. Barak was born in New York to immigrant parents, a Polish-born father and a Russian-born mother.
His father served in the U.S. Army for five years during World War II as a tri-lingual soldier, landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day, and was awarded a medal for heroism.
Alex Barak graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a B.A. in English in only three years. He has always loved writing and was a student journalist and columnist. Then he received a scholarship and studied law, a three-year program at the University of Miami, School of Law, graduating in 1981 with a Juris Doctor degree. During law school, he worked for a full year writing appeals for the U.S. Attorney's Office Appellate Division in Miami.
He is married to his first and only wife, an immigrant herself from Panama, and has two sons, one a mechanical engineer for the turbine engines of the Air Force's F-35 and the other a rocket scientist working for Boeing Space.
